What is the Preservé breast augmentation surgery?

Preservé is a technique and technology that uses the elasticity and firmness of breast tissue while causing minimal damage during surgery. The name Preservé comes from the meaning “to preserve, to protect.”

The Preservé breast augmentation technique was developed to minimize trauma and protect the breast tissue, ensuring the quickest possible return to everyday life, with minimal recovery time and a barely visible scar (1.5–2 cm) in the inframammary fold, while allowing excellent control of implant placement. This is a significant difference compared to the transaxillary (through the armpit) approach. With the Preservé technique, much larger implants can be used than with the transaxillary method – up to 330 cc (ml), while the maximum for the transaxillary method is around 190 cc (ml).

The Motiva company, in cooperation with specialists, developed the technology and surgical technique to meet the above requirements. These technological and technical tools ensure that breast tissue is exposed to minimal damage during implant placement. The natural fibrous tissue planes, into which the implant is inserted, are preserved, ensuring its stability and a long-lasting aesthetic result.

The surgery uses high-quality implants from Motiva – Ergonomix II, which are finely textured and filled with silicone gel that is very soft and gentle to the touch. In case of implant shell damage, the gel does not leak. These properties make the breasts look and feel natural.

Risks

In addition to the general potential risks common to all surgeries (infection, bleeding, etc.), there are also specific risks associated with breast augmentation with implants, which, however, are reduced to almost zero with this technology.

The high quality of the implants and the technology of their production almost completely eliminate the formation of scar tissue – fibrosis around the implant, medically called a capsule, which in other types of implants may contract, deform the breast, and lead to the need for revision surgery (capsular contracture). Thanks to the quality of the implants, the risk of developing implant-associated tumors is also reduced to almost zero.

Who is this surgery suitable for?

Age itself is not a decisive factor. The quality of the tissue – its elasticity and firmness – is what matters.

It is suitable for women who want a natural breast enlargement of 1–2 bra cup sizes, with a minimal scar in the inframammary fold. The surgery is especially ideal for those who need to return quickly to everyday life, with minimal or no recovery time, and who do not have physically demanding jobs (lifting heavy objects, dusty environments, etc.).

Post-surgery restrictions

There are almost none. A woman can drive a car immediately after surgery, sleep on her stomach or side, and after the wound has healed, she can swim, exercise, play with children, lift them up, and so on.

Who is this surgery not suitable for?

For women who do heavy manual labor or work in demanding conditions – such as dusty environments (in which case it is recommended to stay at home until the wound has healed, about 7–14 days). For breastfeeding women or those for whom less than 6–8 months have passed since breastfeeding or childbirth. Also, for women with poor skin and tissue quality, or significantly sagging breasts. In cases of breast ptosis, we are cautious when recommending this surgery and carefully evaluate each case.

How to enhance the post-surgery appearance of the breasts

It is very suitable to combine the surgery with the patient’s own fat, which helps fine-tune what nature may have left out – various chest asymmetries, breast asymmetries, asymmetries in the décolleté area, and slight volume adjustments.
