The surgery is performed under local anesthesia and takes approximately 45–90 minutes. The surgeon:

• Makes an incision in the natural fold of the upper eyelid,
• For lower eyelids, the incision is made just below the lash line or from the inside (transconjunctival approach),
• Removes excess skin, fat pads, and adjusts muscle tension,
• Closes the incision with fine stitches – resulting in nearly invisible scars hidden in natural creases.

The procedure can be combined with brow lift, fillers, or other rejuvenating treatments.

Recovery and return to daily life

Mild swelling, bruising, and tightness around the eyes are common after blepharoplasty. These usually subside within 7–10 days.

Post-operative recommendations:

• Cold compresses during the first few days,
• Sleeping with the head elevated,
• Avoiding physical exertion for 7–10 days,
• No makeup, tanning beds, or sun exposure for at least 2 weeks,
• Following hygiene and healing care instructions strictly.

Most people return to normal routines after 1–2 weeks. Final results become apparent within 4–6 weeks.
